05 Feb Christmas in Cambodia
Hello family, friends, and dear supporters. I know it is February already; man does time fly; but I wanted to send you a short update on all of the fun stuff that happened over the Christmas holidays.
Christmas is always such an exciting time of year in our communities. As an anti-trafficking organization we focus on so many different topics throughout the year but during Christmas time we get to come back to the reason for it all and focus solely on teaching JESUS! One of the verses that comes to mind during this time is:
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Of course that is the Christmas story right there; Jesus coming to us to save us all. But I want to focus on something else…God so loved the world that he GAVE… Our God is such a generous, giving God and I believe we are called to be the same. We love Christmas because we get to bless our children and our families big time. In the two projects that Jill and I lead, our team got to bless every single one of the children that came with a gift, a full meal, dessert, and drinks (and during Christmas we usually have 3-4x the numbers because they know a gift is coming lol). We were also able to bless several families with large care packages filled with lots and lots of food. Not only were our children and families super blessed and encouraged in the lord but 7 new children gave their lives to Jesus for the very first time! Praise the Lord!
I want to thank all of you for your generous support and prayers. You may not physically be here but you are sharing in the fruit of not only Jill and I’s ministry but of all Iris Cambodia. Your giving and prayers help make things like an incredible holiday season possible for our communities.
I pray all of you had wonderful Christmas seasons and are having a great New Year. Our goal for this New Year is to write more often to all of you.
Blessings,
Mitchell and Jillian Stiner
